Doors
Republic offers a complete line of standard and specialty hollow metal doors to fit your architectural needs-including other manufacturer's hinge placements. Republic doors are available in 20, 18, 16, & 14 gage cold-rolled or galvanealed steel. All standard doors are 1 ¾” thick with a ¾” cell honeycomb core as standard, providing every door with a smoother, flatter, and stronger door. Republic honeycomb doors are available in a complete range of fire ratings (20 minutes up to 3 hours) and are certified under both Underwriters Laboratories and Warnock Hersey/ITS. All doors are manufactured from stretcher-level quality steel and are thoroughly cleaned and phosphatized inside and out offering excellent corrosion resistance and paint adhesion.
Basic Door Designs
Optional Door Cores
- Polystyrene (Solid Core) - 1 lb density expanded polystyrene per ASTM 578 U-Factor of .13
- Polyurethane (Solid Core) - 2 lb density polyurethane per ASTM C591 U-Factor of .10
- Steel-Stiffened, vertical hat-shaped stiffeners of 20, 18, and 16 gage with mineral wool or fiberglass batting between stiffeners. Stiffeners are welded a maximum of 6" apart and on 5" centers.
- Temperature Rise/Mineral Fiberboard - Mineral fiberboard capable of withstanding a maximum of 250° temperature rise in 30 minutes. U-Factor of .26

Frames
Republic offers a complete line of standard masonry (ME Series) and drywall (MH Series) frames to fit any of your architectural needs. ME Series Universal Frames and MH Series Drywall Frames are constructed to conform to Steel Door Institute Standard ANSI A250.8-1998 (SDI-100).
ME Series shall be formed from 16, 14, or 12 gage cold-rolled steel or galvanealed steel. MH Series Frames are formed from 18, 16, or 14 gage cold-rolled steel or galvanealed steel. (14 gage maximum height of 8'0"). Frames may be either knock-down or have corners welded and ground smooth. All frames have aligning tabs and slots for secure and easy interlocking of jambs to head.
Frames are provided with 9/32" DIA. silencer preparation, (3) per strike jamb and (2) per head for double openings for field application after finish painting. Frames for 1 3/4" (44) doors have 9 gage steel universal hinge tap plates projection welded with provisions for 4 1/2" (114) template type hinges and 14 gage steel strike reinforcement plate, extruded and formed to the equivalent of 10 gauge, projection welded with provision for a Universal ANSI A115.1 or ANSI A115.2 strike. Frames for 1 3/8" (35) doors have 11 gage steel hinge reinforcement plates projection welded with provisions for 3 1/2" (89) template type hinges and 14 gage steel strike reinforcement plate projection welded with provision for cylindrical ANSI A115.2 strike.

Stick Material
Republic pre-engineered steel frame components called "sticks" provide unlimited flexibility for opening systems. Stick components are used to fabricate even the most complex entrance fronts, partitions and window-wall designs. Republic’s variety of jamb depths and sizes permits limitless design freedom. Because stick assemblies are normally welded, they offer strength without seams showing between vertical and horizontal members.
These openings can be designed for any job requirement, fabricated from factory components and assembled and welded by factory-trained Republic Distributors. Since sticks are shipped as components and fabricated locally, shipping costs, job delays and design limitations are greatly reduced.
Republic sticks can be manufactured from 16, 14, or 12 gage cold-rolled or A60 galvanealed steel. When sticks are used for door openings, they are prepared for all mortised and surface hardware. Republic “stick” assemblies are constructed from three basic components: Open Sections (perimeter members), Mullion sections (intermediate members) and Sill or Base sections (bottom members).
Fire-Rated Doors
The emphasis on life safety and property protection has never been greater than it is today. Doors play a very important role in the fire resistance of a building; they allow people to evacuate safely from a building along with limiting the spread of fire and smoke to other areas.
Fire Doors provide the following functions:
- Provides safe egress from a fire area during a fire
- Inhibits the fire from spreading throughout the building
- Protect life and property by reducing smoke hazards
- Provides use as a regular door pathway at all times
Republic provides a comprehensive line of 1 3/8” and 1 3/4 ” thick labeled doors and frames to meet all requirements for fire protection. All of Republic’s door constructions conform to certified fire door procedures whether the doors are furnished with labels or not. Since label requirements vary throughout the country, local authorities having jurisdiction regarding the use of label opening should be consulted during the design and planning stages.
All Republic doors and frames have been fire tested in accordance with UL 10B, UL 10C, UBC 7-2, and ASTM E-152 and are all produced under Underwriters Laboratories and Warnock Hersey/ITS factory inspection and labeling service program.
Republic's fire rating capabilities include the use of ceramic glass and special glazing compounds. FireLite glass is listed under Republic's Underwriters Laboratories and Warnock Hersey follow-up programs.

Architectural hardware is any device, sensor or auxiliary item attached to a frame or door, this hardware is either specified and/or required for the operation and functionality of the door assembly.
All Republic Doors, frames and sticks are regularly prepared for various types and grades of architectural hardware. All hardware preparations are made in accordance with published and or registered manufacturer’s template information.
